Apart from our regular religious services, St James is striving to serve the local Community. Some of the events and activities we also offer are as follows:-


MONTHLY

  • ‘Open Church’ – the Church is open for refreshments between 10am – 12pm on the last Thursday of the month.

  • Sunbeams (Monthly children and parents/carers activities and prayers in the Scout Hut)

ANNUAL

  • Lent lunches for all the village, held in the village hall.
  • Annual Church Fete held in the grounds of Great Horwood C of E Combined School.

  • Annual ball held in the school.
  • Christmas Carol Service, Easter Service, Remembrance Day Service.

  • Palm Sunday walk around the village led by a donkey and members of the Great Horwood Silver Band.

  • Carol singing on the Village Green.

  • Summersaults (Children’s Activity Days) held in the Summer School Holidays.

  • Annual fund raising fun auction in The Swan Pub.

  • Harvest Supper

  • Senior Citizens Christmas lunch
